The Cavan Christmas Market returns to the revitalised Market Square, Cavan Town from Friday, 8 December until Sunday 10 December.
Promoted by Cavan County Council and Cavan Chamber in association with the Cavan Town Multicultural Committee, and supported by PEACE IV, this year’s market will showcase a taste of what Cavan has to offer, with food and crafts representing the multicultural face of Cavan.
With the revamped Market Square offering a bright new, open space in the town centre, the 2017 Christmas Market has almost doubled in size, with the number of cabins growing from eight to fourteen.
Exhibitors this year include Moran’s Mega Jams (fresh from their recent Dragons’ Den success), Áine Handmade Chocolate, Froggy’s Crepes, World Food Award winner Ice-Cream Treats, Tractamotors, Wordbird.ie, Country Couture, Laura’s Candles, Blásta, Green Moss Studios, Marie Smith Ceramics, Studio 8, plus stalls from the Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Sudanese and Nigerian Cavan communities showcasing indigenous food and craft.
The multicultural Christmas Market will also incorporate Christmas trees decorated according to the customs of some of the new communities living in Cavan.
The three-day market will also feature lots of entertainment including Santa’s Grotto, Christmas Carols, traditional music, and cookery demonstrations by top chefs TV3’s Chef Shane Smith (Airfield Estate) and Norbert Neylon (The Oak Room).
It promises to be a colourful, fun-filled three days at Market Square, Cavan Town, so be sure and pop down and get the festive season underway.
This project is part-funded by Cavan County Council, Cavan Chamber and is supported by the EU’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
